Research Facilities
TBRI is centrally located in the Tampa Bay area. The Institute resides in the Blue Heron Technology building overlooking Blue Heron lake in the Gateway area of northeast St. Petersburg.
The Institute is equipped with everything necessary for live animal, cell culture, and molecular biology research, including high, low, and ultraspeed centrifuges | cytofuge | laminar flow hoods | chemical fume hood | CO2, bacterial and worm incubators | agarose and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and blotting equipment for DNA/RNA/protein analyses | real-time and standard PCR | ELISA plate washers and readers | a BioTek Synergy HTX multimode (UV/Vis, fluorescence, and luminescence) plate reader | phase/fluorescent microscopes, inverted microscopes, | a Muse cell analyzer | a 2 laser, 4 color FACS Caliber flow cytometer | a 4 laser, 14 color, acoustic focusing Attune NxT flow cytometer | and a Shimadzu Prominence HPLC equipped with a photo diode array detector.
